About me
Yup! That is me. Hi! I am Sonja.
Originally from a small town in the United States, I have been living and working abroad for the past 13 years. I completed my Masters Degree in Literature in Germany in 2014 and am now currently based in southwest London.
I am a self-taught artist and illustrator and I juggle the creative life with being a Mum to my sweet little boy.
I like to work with many different types of media, from pens to paints I like to use different techniques of calligraphy, hand lettering, painting and sketching to come up with my own unique style.
I spent many years studying literature and I find that it often influences the way I think about my art. I have developed a unique fairytale-esque style and always try to weave a story into my work.
I love bright colours and new challenges. My work has sold throughout Europe and in the USA. I have worked for the likes of 3-Michelin Star Chef, Kevin Fehling creating custom illustrations of his life and influences which are now part of his personal collection. I have been featured in magazines and local media and even created art for local dance schools and the New Wimbledon Theater.
